Patio shape / Materials

Hello,

I'm in the process of re-landscaping my backyard. Right now, I have square concrete slabs about 6' x 6' (7 of them).

My landscape designer says to redo with flagstone and shape it as a amoeba, rather than straight lines. She has they look better, and most BHG have these. Is it true.

Also I wanted to get opinion on the materials for concrete/stone that has a bang for the buck.

Thanks in advance

Flagstone is expensive, but looks great when finished. Landscape design depends on your home, taste, and space. I have seen great gardens offset with squares or rectangles, amoeba's usually look good within a large area because of the flowing lines, but if you are confined, square isn't bad expecially if you bring in weeping type woody plants and put plants in containers spread about. I would spend my money on plant material and use the concrete slabs that you have.

Thanks a million for the feedback. I did not realize that I'd had to check the site for follow-ups. I thought I'd receive them in email.

Makes sense... what you recommend.
