Is there a difference between blue stone and limestone?
I need to re do my front stairs. I live in the Boston, ma area.
My mason gave me the choice of limestone or blue stone to repair my stairs. Does Blue stone hold up better then limestone

Some salesman. Ask to see samples and judge for yourself. It depends which will look better with the house and surroundings. You be the judge not your mason. Bluestone will be blueish grey and limestone will be brownish white, last time I used them, but each region of the country has different veins.
