I'm putting together a rough estimate for landscaping this spring and am trying to get a rough ballpark estimate for the cost to hire a contractor to build a roughly 2ft high stacked stone retaining wall? Length is 10-20 feet, haven't finalized design (depends on rough price). Any help would be appreciated, I'm not sure if this is a $2,000 item or a $5,000 item. Thanks!
Unfortunately, there are so many unknowns for us to consider that unless a participant here lives in your area, any thoughts posted here regarding price may be off-base. Cost of labor...cost of materials...type of stone...hand or machine digging...terrain...distance from off-load to building site...weather...experience of contractor... All of these things and more will play into setting the price. I have no idea what the cost of labor and stone are in your area, but here in Massachusetts, I'd tend toward the higher side on price.
Hey guys,I don't know, but I think that a stone wall can't be done by the sq.f it has to be by cubic feet think about it.I usuly charge 20.00 to 40.00 per cubic feet depends what stone they wanna go with.
