| I looked all ofer the Gardenweb and THS for an appropriate place for this question, and this seems like the best spot.
My wife has these grand ideas of having a "Yellow Brick Road" out back. Last year, we got the most yellowish bricks we could find -- I think it was actually "sand" -- and I made the walkway the way she wanted. No, of course, it's not the same as in Oz, but it's the way she wants it, and we men know that's more important :)
Anyway, now we've agreed that while it looks nice, it's not as "yellow" as what we wanted. What we want to do is maybe wipe it with some yellow paint, hoping the paint will go into the pits of the brick, and therefore not be worn away as quickly. We were also contemplating putting polyeurethene over the bricks to help protect the paint, but she's afraid that would make the bricks slippery when it rains.
I'm looking for any feedback from anybody who has ever tried this before and what kind of results they had. Is there a particular type of paint we should use, or a particular method? And should we polyeurethene or not? Heck, I had the idea of sprinkling gold glitter on the bricks, but she doesn't want to go that far! Thanks in advance!
