| A neighbor was helping me move my biggest rocks and when we got back to my piece of petrified wood he gasped and said that is one beautiful and expensive piece you have. I said, oh how much, and he said between $700-$1,000. Wow! I got so busy that I never did follow up on finding someone who could appraise it. Of course finding a buyer will probably not be easy; maybe ebay but shipping it would cost a bundle. I want to be able to buy a new gardening shed; the 2 here are windowless metal Arrow sheds, one is about 10 by 10, the other is about a 8 feet wide by 4 feet deep, again an Arrow with no windows and the doors don't shut all the way.
Anyway now I have a whole new slate to landscape and I still have more rocks to move, and what a chore that is! I want to build a retaining wall in front of my six 15 foot tall Rhodie's, they're on a slight slop and the dirt has been eroding so I want to add some more dirt so I can put some kind of rock garden under them. I have pictures of the petrified wood and some of my rock collection as well as my garden. |
