I have a wall that i built out of cinder blocks and i want to face it with some flagstone that i purchased..The wall is about 3ft high by 40ft long..
My question is ..Do i just get some mortar and start from the bottom and work my way up.Is there a special mortar i should use?
Then come bag with the grout bag and fill inbetween the stones later?..Or is it more involved than that?
It is not a retaining wall..Just a wall i built to have seperation from my pool area..
My husband did this on a short 1 foot high wall. He started by cutting diamond mesh to fit the wall, then attaching the mesh with concrete screws. This is to give the mortar better adherence. Then use concrete mortar to attach the flagstone. After several days of drying, go back and grout. Ours was only one level high, but you will have to do in several layers. Do bottom layer first. After drying do next layer, and you will probably have to use something to prop against the stone to stop it sliding down. Or you could use several layers of duct tape from the top to hold it in place until it dries. If you do all 3 feet at once there is the danger that the top layers will slide down and push everything out of place.
Where are my bananas? 2 months after I sent you a box, at your request, of rooted and unrooted plumeria I have received NOTHING. One lame excuse was it. You initiated the trade, the least you can do is to hold up your end.
