Rock Borders

| I have recently purchased a home with a bed of english ivy running along the side. I have pulled out the ivy, covered it with landscape covering and placed treated mini pine chips over the covering. My problem now is to place an attractive border along the pathway, which slopes, the former owner landscaped the yard with broken pieces of sidewalk stone, which I have used as a border, its also holding down the edge of the landscape cover. What can I do to make the stone border more attractive or should I consider using a different kind of border. Any suggestions would be helpful |

| I'm not sure what you mean by sidewalk stone...sidewalks here are concrete. I edge all my gardens in stone...stone walls and small flat stones side by side. I couldn't imagine using anything else. Why didi you remove the ivy? was it unsightly? If i want to soften and beautify stone borders, i find plants do wonders. Creeping phlox is beautiful as it spills over stone. How much light and growing room do you have. |
