pictures of my stone potting shed

I finally figured out how to post pictures to webshots. I know, not rocket science but some of us just take longer to figure thingsout. So, I thought I would post a couple of pictures of stone features in my garden. Excuse the misplaced animal photos and sorry for people in the pics - only ones I had.

The paths and building were made by me of scrap granite from a cutting shed in Elberton GA.

Looks good! I didn't see signs of any mortar - is it really dry stacked?

I was interested in building a stone potting shed also. What do you use for a base before you start the stones? How deep is this?

It looks very nice.

Way cool!! Did you purchase stone, or was it "found" stone. howdja do it!?

The stone was all found. It is scrap granite from a place where they make tombstones, Thirty three loads in my toyota PU at about 1,125 lb a load. I had the foundation dug with 18 in. footers and poured. I was afraid of settling. I do have a similar stone free standing fireplace where I simply mortered big stones together to make the foundation pad and it has not shifted. It took me six months of Friday nght/weekends, working alone. Then I hired a carpenter to do the roof and put in the windows. maybe i'll take some more close up pics....
