Need weed control around rock wall?

I have built several feet of dry stack rock walls around my house. Look for suggestions on how to control grass around the rocks. Walls are built from different shape flat rock dry stacked. I hate using round up around the rocks. I though about digging a trench out and pack wet crushed limestone powered in the trench. Thanks for the help

I have several tons of sandstone around my house and the ONLY solution- and I have tried several- is Round-up. I only use it once a season and it leave a hard packed dirt edging about 4-5 inches in front of the stone border.

This is a link to my album if you care to see. Be very careful around water features- Roundup can kill your fish.

I found this looking for a weed control person in Rockwall, TX. Funny that this showed up on page 1 of google for what I was looking for.

I hate using a weed eater along rock walls. It eats up the string and cuts into soft rock like sand stone. I also use Roundup.
Here is a little idea that may help.
When using Roundup (glyphosphate) I put a can, of appriate size, at the end of the nozzle. This is on a pump up sprayer. I take a coffee can and drill a hole in the end. I remove the nozzle tip, put the can over the threads and replace the nozzle. (measure the threaded part for drilling the right size hole.) When spraying this acts as a shield, keeping the spray from blowing onto plants you don,t want to kill. You can spray individual weeds this way within the flower bed, like nut grass. Strait lines can be had this way when edging with the sprayer. For a thinner line the can is squeezed down so it does not cover as much area.

How do you keep it from dripping when you're not spraying? I would think the spray would get on the inside of the can and run out when walking between areas being sprayed.
I guess you could hold it up when not in use, as long as the seal is good between the can and sprayer wand. Rubber washer comes to mind.
I use glyphosphate with real low pressure and correct nozzle adjustment for accuracy.
I'm not a fan of string trimmers. If I can't mow it with a mower, I change it so I can, or change it so I don't have to.

If you are a organic person, then salt will kill the grass & weeds.
But you can not plant there any time soon after.
