RE: define terms :processed gravel , class 5 gravel,

What it's called pretty much depends on where you live. But generally, anything that is referred to as 'processsed', or 'class', or 'crushed', or 'road base' is a native mined mineral material (meaning it includes no organic soils, only mineral soils) that has been 'processed' by a crushing machine, after which it is 'processed' by a series of sieves to insure that all the particles are smaller than a certain size, and that only certain percentages of each size are within the makeup of the given finished product. For example, stone dust is a product of a stone crushing process and sieve filtering that eliminates all particles large than sand-like particles. A product known generally as 'crusher-run' is a product from the same process, but it is allowed to have greater percentages of certain larger particles.

Products referred to as crushed or processed 'gravels' are just that...mined gravels (sand and stone mixtures, not just stone) that have been crushed and sieve filtered to certain specified percentages of this or that size particle.
