Cleaning Large Boulders

| Hello. In the course of reworking our driveway/front yard, we unearthed a couple large boulders that we subsequently planted in the front yard as landscape design elements. Since these were previously beneath the ground they are somewhat dirty, and during the removal and placement of them they were scatched up a bit by the backhoe.
What should I do to wash these rocks to get them to look the best they can, with the most character?? Wash with water and scrub? Acid Wash? I'm no geologist, but we are in Southern New England and I would feel pretty safe guessing these are granite stones we are talking about...
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks -- M |

| I've used a pressure washer and had pretty good results. If you don't have one, you can rent one. It won't affect the scratches, but time will mellow those. |

| Pressure washer. If there is mold/mildew, then a bleach spray. |
