Concrete Back Porch and gravel patio

Can anyone advise me. I have a concrete porch about 10ft long and 4ft back to front. It is part of the house foundation, so we can't move it. The back kitchen door opens to it, with about 3" between the door sill and the porch surface, The back garage door also opens to one end of it, and that doorstep is only 1&1/2" above the porch surface, so not enough space to lay another surface. I would like to build a Goshen stone patio, but I think it will look strange against the concrete porch. Does anyone have any suggestions about how I could make the two surfaces
look okay
Thanks

| I'm not sure what Goshen stone is, but I have a similar situation--a postage-stamp sized concrete patio, which I expanded with a gravel patio. The far edge of the gravel is edged in limestone, which I think connects it to the concrete at the house-edge. Plus, I've used periodic container plantings to help blur the edges, so to speak. It's not perfect, but was definitely easier than trying to rip out the concrete or expand it by laying another slab. Email me if you'd like me to send you a picture. |
