Between flagstone?

I would like to have some moss growing between the stones on our flagstone walkway. I tried to "transplant" some from our yard last fall when we laid the path - but my idea didn't seem to work. Did I do something wrong? Would the moss/buttermilk/blender method work here if I applied the mixture only bewteen the stones? Under the stones is sand and crushed rock. Are there any other suggestions?
Thanks! Renee

I put strips of Irish Moss between mine. It looks very nice.

I know that moss doesn't do well in dry areas or areas with too much sun.
