...except to plant the flowers. But I love old stonework, and I know you do, too. So I thought I'd share these pictures I took today. Ah, Pennsylvania fieldstone!

Hi,

Also hail from PA but, I take it you're where there's limestone. Here we've sandstone galore, which I've incorp. into my flowerbeds.

How do you post photographs to this Forum... I just discovered it? I've Irfanview or are you using Photobucket?

CS, thanks for the info. I didn't even know I had limestone. I figured it was Pennsylvania fieldstone, whatever that is.

I use Photobucket.

Alisande,

I'm from the other side of the State of PA..but, if you're ever in Lancaster or Berks County PA areas (Amish Country) That area is full of limestone built buldings and I love those old limestone houses and barns. BTW I love that is it a shed or springhouse beside your house? Limestone is more of a lime color (whitish-gray) look. Sandstone is more of a sandy color thus the name. BTW we've Amish in this area too.

Here we've some limestone but, more sandstone rocks. I've my flower beds on my back bank laid up with sandstones. That's reason I was curious how you were posting photographs.

Some areas around here (Companies) crush the limestone and sell it as small chips for on driveways for on these Twp. Country roads -- I too live in the boonies, etc. The sandstone the same thing is done.

If I had $.05 for every sandstone that I picked up when I purchased this place and reseeded the lawn I'd be rich! LOL!
