planting on a retaining wall

| We have just purchased a home on a corner city lot that is bordered by a small stone retaining wall. We would like to plant a cedar hedge along the top of it to provide privacy as well as a border. Any concerns about the invasion or damage to the wall by the roots in the future???? |
