Volcano Rock

I don't normally post in here but wanted to share my new stone with everyone. I'm excited about the possibilities of this in my garden!!

Nice rock jodonne. It looks like the type of stone used by Chinese gardeners for special display. There are a number of posts discussing these rocks and their sources in the Japanese Gardening forum. If it is volcanic, I wonder how it became so eroded. Normally, stones that look like this are limestone that was eroded by slightly acidic lake and stream water.

Yes, it is Limestone. They just called it a volcano rock at the place I picked it up!! They alos called it Steeple Rock and Cathederal Rock!
