NIce idea for stepping stone..... also info on how to age stone..

I thought it was such a good idea....... this is for a very simple stepping stone.......

P.S. you can also make pretty stepping stones by using restangular or round or hexagonal or square or whatever you like shape molds and laying a leaf of say a fern within...... or shells...... remove these items to reveal shapes.....

Also I saw instructions on how to age stone..... rub the stone with some moss or leaves...... keep in a shaded site.... water well.... keep well watered untill moss or something like it forms...... :) .....

This is beautiful. How does one go about gettting such a big leaf (I don't grow rhubarb)? Any ideas?

Well esh if you don't have rhubab I'm sure there's others you can use. Ie for example have catalpas near me that could probably work.

We have catalpa and castor bean around here, so those are good sources. Thanks!

You can also make your leaf out of cardboard anysize and type you want to design. Use a bead of elmers glue to make the veins. I guess making a bead of silicon would work as well for the veins of the leaf.

Barb, Elephant ears will work and just about all hosta. Look for leaves with very defined veins. Some leaves that have a pebbley finish will stick to your stepping stone or planter but will either rot away or you can pick them out. If you go to the Hypertufa forum on this web site there's a lot of information. Billie
