A new wall in the garden

| I posted this in the gallery of the Cottage Garden forum, but thought I'd also put it up here. This is one of two walls I built this month, the other is opposite this one; but on another roll of film yet to be developed.

| Very nice! What are you going to do for cap stones? K4 |

| Thanks. There won't be any cap stones like what I think you're talking about; the look is suppose to be less formal than that. I just finish them off with flat stones laid on top.I ran out of nice ones, so I still need some - a couple on this wall and a couple on the other one. |

| That's what I did on my walls. I used flagstone. Check out the thread 'Multiple Stone Projects'. Regards, K4 |

Oh,yes, I've seen your "Multiple Stone Projects". Beautiful. In the second wall I built opposite this one, I've noticed that one rock practically in the middle on the outside has dropped a little - that is,fell crooked. Not all that bad, but I see it every time I walk out there. But at this point, I'm not tearing down the whole thing to correct that one small stone. I'll send photos as soon as I get the roll of film developed. I poured wash gravel around the foundations of the walls where there was a gap of appx.3" to 4" between dirt and stone. I think that will help with drainage a bit. |
