Almost done with Rock Wall

for my raised garden. Yippee!

I have a feeling that I made a huge city for local insects. Already there are a few crickets chirping from within the wall as I am working in the early evening. I don't mind the crickets. Though I was walking today and one of my neighbors has a short rock wall and there were about 30 angry hornets or yellow jackets flying around an obvious nest in the wall.

Does anyone have problems with hornets, yellow jackets, or any other insects in your rock wall?

Thanks!

Ken

one more thing to think about (or worry about, in my case!)...just yesterday we were adjusting our stone wall and lifted a rock and there was a snake coiled up. scared the bahoobies out of all of us!!

I think that hornets, wasps, and such will nest near you whether they have a rock wall or not (they certainly do near us). I'm looking forward with some trepidation to finding out just how much habitat we've created with our new wall too, for slugs and spiders.

Congratulations on getting through the rock wall project.
