 o
stone between flagstone

I have a path that also serves to direct water away from my home. I used #9 gravel to create the grade I needed, and have laid large flagstones as steppers along the path (Each one approx. 24-30" irregular shape about 4-5" apart along the 38"-wide path with a clear avenue (about 6") for water on one side; stones laid level but 'stepping' down about 1/2 to 1" as they go down the path.) The question is, what is a good rock to use betwen the flagstones (to create a safer walking path)? I was thinking crushed & washed #6, but afraid the crushed stones will end up 'clogging' the avenue for water to drain. I'm thinking I should use a rounded stone (not pea gravel), but maybe debris will fill the gaps anyway(?) Thanks.

well put some of that landscapers cloth down. It will prevent weeds, and then you can put any kind of gravel you wish. I'd stay away from River rock. Too round and easy to trip on.
