flagstone patio

Hello,

I am creating a flagstone patio and want the effect of greenery in between stones instead of sand, gravel, or mortar. I welcome any recommendations of a plant/grass/moss to use and how to go about doing it. I wasnt sure if I plant first and then lay the flagstone or vice versa. Thanks!

REgarding what plants to use, it depends on your conditions - sun, shade, etc - I think it's been discussed here before, or in the landscape design forum... search for groundcover + flagstone perhaps. Re what to do first: flagstone first, plant last.

Jamie, there is an entire forum for "ground cover". That is the best place to ask questions. Second, take a look at the steppables website. They have lots of pictures and advice for ground covers they sell.
