flagstone on top of concrete slab...possible?

I'm renovating my upstate NY concrete pool deck, patio and retaining walls, and want to get creative and out of the box. Thus, I'm going for "naturalistic" and Japanese-garden-esque. So, here are my main questions for folks who can help me answer them:
1: is it possible to dry-lay bluestone or other flagstone right onto concrete, including at pool's edge, and if so, how is it done?
2: Is it possible to make a raised bed on top of concrete with, say, rocks at pool's edge and landscape cloth behind rocks?
3: How fake do fake boulders look?
4: Does anyone have experience with wooden interlocking paving tiles? Jarrah wood. wear? weathering? Also on top of concrete.
5: Can anyone tell me if I can put cultured stone over old stucco-covered cinderblock walls, and if so, how?
Thanks so much!

1. answered on this forum. many times. do a search
2. assuming like most pools the concrete slopes towards the pool, this would allow rain to create mud which will flow underneath and into your pool.
3. depends on who makes the boulders
4. no experience. probably your best bet. easiest, most workable
5.remove stucco first. then apply stone.
