Gardening with Stone

Stacking or Cementing?

I have recently started growing in a wooden raised bed I bought at home depot. But the way I figure it would be much better to start with bricks since they will not rot. My question is do the bricks need to be cemented together or will it be O.K. to just stack them up? Will they still be able to hold its shape and the dirt or will it be constantly falling apart?

If you had not found out already, they will easily tumble down if stacked. You CAN use them if you mix them with larger block or even flat stone...... even wood !
I do it all the time as I love building crazy walls with stacked stuff.
the fun is experimenting,huh ?
