 o
dry stack versus wet stack pricing

Hey
I'm just starting out and could use some mentorship so I don't run into snafus. I've done drystacks with pa field stone and one with an ashlar pattern. The ashlar was drystack and took half as much time as irregular field stone but I priced them the same which was $16 sq' not including materials. I'm thinking for irregular stone I might have to go up to $20. Is this reasonable? And what would be a price comparison between a wet stack and dry stack? Any help would be appreciated. I apologize for soliciting into your business practices but I'm a newbe. Also anyone have a price comparison between irregular flag stone on slab and screenings? Regular versus irregular? Thank you

RE: dry stack versus wet stack pricing

I would say the price is a little up there for dry stack... but still doable.

Labor for that type of work should not go over $10/sf, and profit and overhead is usually 30% at most these days for small companies...

It depends on the client.

Dry stack is cheaper because it takes half the time and it saves you material. Take at least a couple of dollars off the labor compared to wet applications.

Let me know if you need more info.
