Different types of benches

These benches are called 'The Better Bench' system. Not cheap but they should last as long as you need them, and you can will them to the next greenhouse grower. They have excellent drainage and The tops come off for easy washing. Pressure washing won't hurt them a bit. I like that they also stack. They come in widths of 24, 38 and 48" up to 18' long ( I think).

Hey Weebus

I tried to do a follow-up here but it would not let me add a picture. How did you get your picture right in the post as opposed to a link?

Jim

"img src=Post the url of picture here.jpg"

replace the " with < on the left end and > on the right end. You need to have a pic hosting site. I use photobucket as do many posters I know.

Please post a picture of your bench(s). I am trying to get an album of ideas going.

Let me know if I need to explain that a different way.

RE: Different types of benches

OK, first attempt at posting a picture, so please bear with me.

We're still getting finished/settled inside, and outside work is taking precedence while the weather holds, but, as weebus requested, here's a picture of the bench we made out of 3'x8' white cedar picket fence "seconds". A lower shelf will be added, and eventually a bench on the far wall also ... the south wall is, so far, reserved for low planters, a few hanging baskets and (very important) my chair.

There's a lot of improv here, definitely a work in progress, but to me that's half the fun. Realized I needed a potting tray ... lid from large R'maid container under the bench was handy and just right. Also handy were "U" clamps and the bamboo garden stake (lightweight but fairly strong; the one on the south side is for hanging baskets). Most of the plants are just left-over annuals this first, experimental, year - just moved the entire planters in there. The cyclamen are throwing their annual hissy fit over having been taken from the patio into the house; I think they'll be happier here.

I've added a link at the bottom as back-up, in case the attempt to embed the image doesn't work.

Here is a link that might be useful: Bench in HFGH

Trouble embedding picture

Well, clearly I did something wrong; sorry folks. Until I figure it out, at least there's the link; just click on the thumbnail for a larger image.
