CO2 supplementation question

I doubt I'd ever go to these lengths, more of an academic question out of morbid curiosity.

Many professional greenhouse growers supplement CO2, at levels up to 1000 PPM or more for better growth.

My question is, if these plants grown in these conditions are then moved to outdoor, ambient CO2 conditions, does it hurt them? In other words, if they've become "accustomed" to higher CO2 will "normal" levels no longer be sufficient, or will they simply return to what would constitute normal growth levels at that point?
