BC Cape Cod Greenhouse doing great here for our first winter in NH. The snow slides right off the roof and the high winds have not phased it one bit. Very solid unit and BS was wonderful to work with !

Love your greenhouse. I only have the ones from Harbor Freight but they do the job for me down here in Ocala FL.
I have 2 of the 10X12's put together back to back to make one. I have about 90 to 100 orchids growing from the roof. I also start seeds to sell to help with some of the cost. When the world is treating me bad I go to the GH and everythong is OK again.

Funnylady, That is quite a good sized house you have there. Yes and when the weather is bad i turn up the heat and watch the snow come down!

Tominnh....
Is that a DIY? Can you fill me in on who makes it and who installed it? I am dying with envy here!

RE: BC Greenhouse Doing Great

That is DYI... Cape Cod from BC Greenhouses. I contacted BC Greenhouses after reviewing what was available from other companies. This is my 3rd greenhouse. Started YEARS ago with a quonset hut I built. Then onto an "english" aluminum/glass 8X10, again that I built. I chose the Cape Cod model due to the steep roof pitch to aid the snow in sliding off which is just what it does. The center ridge is almost 14' high which allows for very tall plants.

Bought this time from BC due to there service and the structure itself which is VERY strong. Did not want to be dealing with snow load issues etc etc etc. Been there done that and it's no fun.

I opted for a knee wall at the base which is 30" high, ( 2X6 construction, insulated, anchored to cement posts). I had that built by a friend. I assembled the frame with the exception of the roof rafters and ridge which was again done by a friend.
I installed the furnace (Garage Guy Vented and burns outside air also one size higher than recommended). I believe the flue has what is called a concentric vent pipe. Not fun to install and the furnace hangs from the roof rafters, also not fun to install but if I can do it anyone can.

The gas line and electrical was done by a pro due to code requirements.

Last night we dropped to 2 degrees and the Greenhouse temp never fluctuated at all.

Where R U Located..?
