How do they not just fall apart though? Do the neighboring pots help support each other? Can you separate them without them falling apart? How long do they grow in there before you pot them up? And most importantly, are your seedlings smarter having been raised in a media literate environment?

I used brown paper last year and it went all moldy.

While the crop is growing they hold each other up. Within a few weeks, well before they are sold, the roots fill the pot and they become very sturdy. I've had them last over a year, still functioning. they can't mold because they dry between waterings. When I sell some plants out of the middle I can easily push them all together again. Of course they are planted with the paper. Plants are smart! way more than we know. When I lived in NM we talked about getting Los Alamos sewage sludge...to have smart s.....
