Foundation question

Hello

I would appreciate any input. I have done so much research that I am overwhelmed with information. The problem is that as interesting as so much of the stuff I have read is, It doesn't always apply to my zone.

I am putting a foundation down for a 8x12 Sunglo. It is Aluminum.

I live near Philadelphia between 6a and 6b

We had originally intended to put a block foundation and I ordered the greenhouse with a 9 inch drop for the door. Now we are going to use 4x4 or 4x6 treated lumber for the foundation, which we have to raise 9 inches to accommodate the doorway.

My questions are:

Will 4x4's be ok to use or should we use the 4x6's ? Our intent is to put 4 inches below grade and then 9 inches above grade.

What should be on the floor under the gravel and center aisle stepping stones (which will set in sand) ?

Do I need plastic or will a weed tarp be sufficient?

Should I worry about rodents?

I will be using it mostly for starting vegetables and flowers in the spring, and maybe extending the season for some vegetables.

Thanks ahead of time to anyone who can help.

Marge
