Hello all. been trying to do some figuring I got a greenhouse that menards clearanced out it is a 6x8 with mesh and plastic walls not the ridgid kind. my question is will this work for starting seeds in if I put a oil filled heater in it and wait till late march to use it. My plan would be to start vegitables perenials and some annuals in the basement and as soon as they start move them out to the greenhouse. I know I cant do tomatoes or peppers but what about all my cabbage plants and onion seeds and some squash would that be fesible or whats the thoughts? I would place it either where I can have morning or afternoon sun and I am a stay at home dad so can open vents if needed

heat+light+water= growth. I know its not that simple but if you can provide that with the greenhouse all should be good for pretty much anything you wish to grow. The biggest issue with the smaller greenhouses is they can over heat quickly but since you are home most the time it shouldnt be a problem. If you dont have one get a remote thermometer so you dont have to go out and check all the time. If I had to choose between morning or afternoon shade I would go with the afternoon shade. mike

Well I have the remote thermometer with min max so I can see if it gets to cold I have mesh shelves built in and was planning on setting plywood on the ground for a floor to put a heater in. Once my seeds have sprouted inside on the heat mat can i bring them right out and put them in the GH or do I need true leaves first? Also do I just plan on the same starting times as if they were going to be under lights thanks for the help
