Heat alarm?

Are there heat alarms? Ones that maybe have remote sensors so I could be in my office or wherever and be able to tell the temp of my greenhouse, and have an alarm go off if it gets above a certain temperature? Anything relatively cheap like this?

I haven't invested fully into temperature/weather monitoring, but I do have some affordable pieces in place. I don't recall the brand, but I did buy an indoor/outdoor temp monitor with a remote sensor that I have in the GH. It doesn't alarm at a high temp but does alarm at low (39F0 temp. I'm sure there are more out there, but I'm holding out until I can buy a full Davis weather station & remotes.

My La Crosse thermometer came with 3 remote sensors. Bought it off of E-bay cheap. Don't know the range, but it works from my back yard. Records max and Min.

I bought a remote thermometer from a retailer, so it *wasn't* cheap! But it has the base station and up to three remotes. As Fuzzy said, there is an alarm function (but one I've never used)that can be set to whatever temperature you want. The base station also records high and low temps, daily as well as yearly.

The best option if you are worried about the temps spiking when you aren't around is an automatic exhaust fan. On my GH, the 'output' from the control box also opens a damper at the other end.

Cheers

Yes there is. It is a sensaphone they come with multiple temp. Inputs and you can set high and low temp. It will call you when in alarm and you can call it to check temp. Have had one for years would not have a greenhouse without it, check Ebay good deals there.

HI there, we have had a ton of luck using the Sensaphone 400 to monitor for both power outages and heat alarms. Check out the greenhouse alarms here - http://www.greenhouse-alarm.com/

Here is a link that might be useful: Greenhouse Heat Alarm
