I am building a greenhouse to grow tomatoes right now, too, but I can't afford a hydroponic setup yet. When you compare methods and systems, the question is not 'will it work?' but rather how much patience you have to recover your initial investment. You can spend more and build a nicer system, but then it takes longer to make your money back. Much depends upon your finances.
