Use a piece of scrap plywood and scrap 2x4s as a bender. Don't spend that money on a pipe bender. And 1.57 x radius for height. So a 6' radius would end up with 6x1.57= height, meaning you'll have extra on one end.

I think Linda is asking how tall a 10ft length of EMT would be if ends are 4 and 6 feet apart.

With my simple piece of paper and tape measure. 4ft apart looks like 3ft 9in. and at 6ft apart 3ft 3in.

Ah. I hadn't thought of that, as I would just cut to size. 3'3" is pretty tall for a low tunnel. Lots of extra material to purchase that would go to waste. Regardless, AIUI the Johnny's pipe bender will give you a fixed height and you'll have extra material at the end to cut - that is: if you were to bend a 10-footer with that thing your base would be wider than 6'. I suspect that the directions will tell you how long of a pipe to start with to get a 6' radius at that height (but you should make your own bender anyways).

Click on the link below. While I have not tried it, I think it would work very nice. If you have a flat wall in a garage or shed, you could use it instead of plywood. You would just need to by the hooks to make it. Once you were done, you have a place to hang up your coat!

I like it. I'm thinking those $50. worth of hooks could be replaced with wood blocks on the inside. That's probably what Dan is getting at? I wouldn't use square blocks but round blocks made with a hole saw. No sharpe edges to kink the conduit. You could knock them out quickly with a drill press.

Also, I don't have any open bare walls.

I'm thinking the hole saw bit as well out of scrap 2x4. IMHO you want about 8" of straight rise from grade, for headroom for the plants against the perimeter. You can leave 18" at the ends in addition to the 8" to insert into the soil. That'll do your 10' conduit right there without cutting.

If I decide to replace the poly hoops with EMT, that's how I'll do it. Or maybe I'll take my reg'lur pipe bender and do {{gwi:289940}} but the snow load question needs to be worked out first.
