| I am thinking of building a loop greenhouse (12'x14'). I've heard that when using 3/4 pvc, you have to "paint" each piece because it causes the plastic covering to deteriorate. Please let me know if what I heard is a fact or not. The plan calls for 3/4 schedule 80 PVC but each 10 feet cost 12.00 dollars so I'm going with the schedule 40. Any help will be appreciated. | I think carino means 'hoophouse.' And yes, painting with latex paint is a good idea. The paint must be latex or acrylic. PVC releases a chemical that melts the plastic over time. The paint also shades the pipe from the sun, which will make it last longer. |
