plexiglass skylight for coldframe / cold frame? &/or greenhouse?

Hello!

Our skylight is being replaced at the recommendation of the roofers installing a new roof. The old one (not sure how old; between 15-30 years old) is square sized, domed double paned plexiglass (I gather plexiglass is made from acrylic?). And I can have (or discard if not useful) a couple of rectangular ones, also domed and double paned.

Would this be suitable for using for a cold frame? Or, if we were ever able to be so ambitious, a greenhouse? Any properties that would be undesirable?

There is some metal framing around them, so presumably could be screwed into a wood frame.

Thanks in advance for any info to share.
