I purchased a 12'x8' metal pergola at the end of last summer on sale for a good price. I now want to install it on my brickface patio. I was recently told the brickface blocks would probably crack if I tried to bolt the 4 post into it. Someone suggested I add 4"x8"x16" construction cement blocks under the posts. Would that work? Or, do you have another suggested better way for stability.Keep in mind, I'm a single women and don't really know what I'm doing (other than I want a pergola on my patio), so I need all the help I can get. The owner's manual didn't give installation instructions, only assembly instructions. HELP!
