I am assembling a new aluminum greenhouse on a concrete block base. The greenhouse company says I may attach the aluminum base rails directly to the concrete. My friends say it is mandatory to put a barrier to prevent corrosion of the aluminum. Any thoughts!

I have an aluminum greenhouse that is powder-coated. It has been in direct contact with concrete for 4 years and I see no sign of any corrosion.

Thanks for the feedback. I am going with the company recommendations and not worry. Mike

Mike- I think you'll be safe. For added piece of mind you could run a bead of caulk around the base so water doesn't get under. I did that -- not because I was worried about corrosion -- but to prevent leaking into the greenhouse in a heavy storm.
