Has anyone used black woven ground cover to suppress grass/weed growth outside and inside a high tunnel or greenhouse? This material is often used by nurseries that use drip irrigation for potted/balled flora.
Our new high tunnel/aka HT, has cedar toe boards and I am able to slide this material under them. My idea was to use 3-4' material and have 2-3' outside and slit the fabric at the arches, so 1' of fabric would be inside. On the inside I would add a small piece under the slit and use 8" wire staples to hold edges down.
The goal is to minimize maintenance as well as reduce nesting possibilities for voles and other wildlife.
Has anyone done something more effective for this problem?
