| Good afternoon folks. I am building a pergola. I would like to reduce expense as much as possible. I was planning to use pressure treated woods that we can buy from Home Depot. However, I just learned today that PTW twist. I also learned that I should buy kiln dried PTW.
My posts will be standing on an 8" diameter concrete.
What should I really buy? I don't want them to twist. Oh, is there a product we can apply to prevent this from happening or slow it down?

| If you use cedar you don't have the problem with toxins in your wood. Not sure about twisting of either type of wood. |

| I was thinking of painting the pressure treated wood with color white. What do you think? |

| I would use opaque white stain instead of paint, and only have a good drying period.

| That is very beautiful! Where can I buy this opaque white? And this opaque white you mentioned, is it really for treating pressure treated woods? What's the exact brand that you used? Thanks! :) |

| There are a variety of brands. Any Home Depot or Lowes or good hardware or paint store will have some. I think sometimes they call it fence stain. I have used it on PT wood and on cedar and actually it holds up better for me on the PT wood than on cedar. YMMV |

| Awesome! I've started digging the dirt today. The dirt is a bit hard to work on since it hasn't rained for almost 2 weeks now. I'm deciding where I should put the pergola footings. |
