My husband is advising me not to use the tempered glass shower panes that I just purchased from someone doing a house reno, to use on the greenhouse I want to build. My husband says it will shatter with the hail we get. Is there anything i can do to protect it? It is very thick glass We live in Calgary Alberta which is known to get hail just about any month of the year, and we live on a very exposed and windy ridge.

I would have to agree with you husband. That glass is not made to withstand elements like hail. Also it will not be very efficent keeping temps stable. You really need double pane glass. I know, it is expensive but so is replacing the glass when it breaks...
