Greenhouse Benches

Hi,
I'm looking to set up benches in a 10 by 20 foot greenhouse. Wanted to make two wooden shelves, with the lower one being about 36 inches deep, the upper a bit narrower. But after seeing the Gorilla Rack shelving at Sams Club yesterday, I was wondering if anyone has tried using this for greenhouse bench space? The one we saw was 24" deep, so is a bit narrower than we thought we wanted, but there are four shelves made of chrome and might hold a good bit, plus air and light could circulate. They are 77" wide. Supposed to be sturdy. Any opinions? Experience?
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Nigell

I'm not sure which Gorilla Shelving unit you are considering, so I can't give you a specific response. I ended up going with a Costco unit that may be similar; it cost about $80. It has 6 shelves that measure 18" X 48" and you can erect either one unit that is 6' tall with 6 shelves, or two 3' high units with 3 shelves (which is what I did). The entire thing is chrome-plated, heavy-duty wire, and each shelf can support 500 pounds. The 18" X 48" dimension is perfect for holding 4 standard propagation trays. I've had mine in my greenhouse for 3 years and have had no issues with rusting or corrosion. I'm very happy with this setup. I'll post a picture tomorrow to show you what it looks like.

Thanks, kudzu9, that's the type of shelving, but the one I saw was much higher. Good to know that sort will hold up in the greenhouse. Here's a link to a photo similar to what they had: http://reviews.samsclub.com/1337/179153/reviews.htm

Nigell-
Is the one you are looking at chromed or does it have some other coating? If it's not chrome, I would be concerned about possible corrosion over time; that's why I chose the Costco one. Also, the uprights on the Costco units are 3' high, with a threaded fitting so you can join two of the 3' verticals to make a 6' tall unit, which gives you have a lot of flexibility.

It's chromed. And would hold a lot I think. Not sure how flexible it is as to the shelf heights. Will check. Thanks so much for your input, great pic of your greenhouse, thanks for sharing that. Good to see how others set things up.
Cheers,
Nigell
