Titanium Heat Control Window Film

I am considering adding this to my double hung windows in the gazebo we are turning into a cold greenhouse. To deflect the heat the sun will have on it come winter. Needing to keep it cool around 28/30F. I was curious if anyone has used this product...and if so...if I could get away with bamboo blinds (which I keep reading has light come through.) Or should I go with a darkening blind instead that keeps all light out? The trees I will be keeping are to go dormant...but, also go dormant in my area outdoors. So I think deflecting the sun's winter rays is my biggest hump to get over.

I have attached a photo of the roman blinds I would love to use out there in the enclosed gazebo. Adding heat and a low degree setting thermostat as well.

The window film would seem to offer better heat reduction, and, allow you to see out the windows, which would be my choice for a gazebo.

Thanks...I ended up doing both. Figured the film the best method...the blinds...just a precautionary...as well as for looks.

Well...I purchased the film like I mentioned. We went to apply it today. My husband is questioning why we are adding it when the windows that are in the gazebo have UV protection built in. For some reason he thought I had picked out a design for the window film...and the reason he said nothing.

Now...he feels we are waisting our time applying it.

Thoughts?

The UV factor in the windows is primarily to reduce sunlight damage to whatever is inside. For heat reduction, you need IR - infrared reflection. The "titanium heat film" claims to reflect up to 72% of the IR.
"At zenith, sunlight provides an irradiance of just over 1 kilowatt per square meter at sea level. Of this energy, 527 watts is infrared radiation, 445 watts is visible light, and 32 watts is ultraviolet radiation."
