Should I double-glaze?

Hey, I'll start building my greenhouse soon and am wondering whether I should use two layers of glazing. The frame of the greenhouse will be made of 4x4s and I'm going to use plastic polyethylene film. I'm wondering whether to put a layer on the outdoor side and a second layer on the indoor side of the wood frame, so there would be a ~4 inch space between the layers. The winters where I live tend to be very sunny. Will double-glazing reduce heat loss at night, or does it just make the greenhouse hotter during the day?

Another question I have is what's a good thickness of the film? 4mm? 6mm? The thicker the better or is there a sweet spot?

And one more question: the spot I want to build my greenhouse is right along an 18-foot wall of my chicken run that runs east-west, but it's angled slightly, maybe 3 to 7 degrees, so it runs kind of WSW - ENE. Is this any kind of problem?

Thanks much.
