Diffused glass for a cold frame ???

Would you use a couple of shower doors that are diffused ? (not clear) for a cold frame I am building in my raised beds.

I may be able to use a few of these, however, since sunlight will be sort of filterd, just not sure if it's a good idea.

Yes, frosted glass will cut down some on the amount of light/heat, but I suspect it will still work ok. In addition, shower doors are typically made of tempered or laminated glass, so you don't have to worry about breakage or a kid falling on it.

Since I'm ready to do the top I think I'll just try to design it so I am able to replace it should I use a diffused glass. I'm also considering spending the $ to use plexiglass, whatever comes available when I am ready..

I decided to use 6mil plastic first, when I finally finish I believe I'll go with acrylic in 2x4 sheets
