| Planning for the future. I currently have an 18x31 open ended metal building with a 2:12 pitch roof. Since hopefully I'll have MANY windmill palms to continue growing for the next several years and am told they prefer shade/partial shade, would this open ended building suffice as a protected shade enviroment? |

| Probably would if the roofing were removed and replaced with the proper degree of shade cloth. But to just put them in there and think one open end is enough light, questionable IMO. The shade inside a building is a lot more severe than typical "shade" outdoors. If you have a light meter and know what your plants need you can know for sure. I have a $15 light meter that seems to work pretty good in the light range you are talking about. A proper shade structure would be pretty easy to build. |
