| I would like to build a 8 X 4 propagation table which provides bottom heat using rows of micro tubing spaced 2-3" apart, running the length of the table, that are pump/cycled with hot water. Many greenhouses use a similar setup, but have natural gas powered water heaters providing the hot water.
Since the area I wanted to heat is fairly small, I was wondering if I could use a decent size aquarium heater (300W) or multiple aquarium heaters and a 10 gallon tub to heat the water. The aquarium heaters will only heat the water to about 90 degrees, so I was unsure of if that would be enough? The ambient temp will probably be around 50 degrees and I will need the setup to provide about 70 degrees of temp, but only in the evening. Anyone with thoughts or experience doing anything like this please share! |

| Your idea has merit, this guy is using a 200 watt and about 4 gallons of water for his worms in an unheated garage An extra thermometer and it should be good to go. http://www.redwormcomposting.com/worm-composting/heating-a-small-worm- bin-in-the-winter/ Curt |
