Converting a horse stable

I have been in the process of tearing down an old horse stable that's on my property. When I got all of the rotted add ons pulled off I found I had basically a ten foot deep by twenty foot wide pole barn structure with a shed roof and the high open side faces due south. The front is about nine foot high and tapering to about six on the north side. I was thinking about putting greenhouse film on the east south and west sides but leaving the metal roof on and closing in the north wall with some of the salvaged lumber from the "additions" that I have pulled off. It seems I would get a good bit of light as it is. I also thought about extending the front out as well, maybe four or six feet. Any thoughts on the pros and cons of this undertaking?
