GH heat/light/UV questions

Some of the polycarb panels I've researched boast of features like:

95% UV reduction
No direct infrared radiation

So - is this actually good? I've read that UV is actually helpful to plants and may be necessary. Plus, would a plant in a GH that got little/no UV light burn once put in full sun and full UV moreso than a plant that got UV while in the GH?

As far as the "no direct infrared" - not sure if it's blocking IR or just diffusing it, but if it's blocking, wouldn't that seriously reduce passive solar heat gain? Maybe in summer that's good, but in most places in winter, I'd think you want at least some passive solar gain. Or am I misunderstanding this?
