Pool Finish Choices - Pebble Sheen

Posted by JDGroves 8 (My Page) on

I am interested in commnets and or photos of finished pools which used pebble sheen. We are specifically looking at French Grey, White Diamonds, and Blue Granite. Our Home and Fence exterior are various shades of grey. We will be using flagstone as a surface around the pool with a stacked stone back wall with 2 sheer descent features.

Appreciate any help.

I am still looking for pictures of any of the pebble sheen whites, sandy beach, more blue granintes, and more pictures of french gray. Anyone have any new pictures to add? For some reason it seems to be a problem with the installers in s. CA to find actual homes where people are willing to show me their work.

We have a pool under construction and are considering going with either French Gray or Bordeaux Pebble Sheen. Any photos one wishes to share would be most helpful. sbfrankl in so.CA, we are having our Pebble Sheen done by Preciado Pool Plastering, ph # 818-361-1600. They have been most helpful in finding homes for us to go to and view the Pebble Sheen finishes in various colors. Give them a call. Good luck with your pool!!

We went with the French Gray. The only place the finish actually looks gray is on the first step, just a few inches below the water surface. After that its a nice blue. Not sure how to post a picture here.

I have to either replaster or pebble tec my pool. I have seen three pools with pebble tec and didn't like them. All looked too gray. I want to see the following two colors: Aqua Blue Pebble Sheen and Bella Blue Pebble Fina. Does anyone know where I could go in the Los Angeles or San Fernando Valley area to see these colors up close? Maybe hotel pools with these colors?

Thanks.

Sorry Charlotte,

We went with the French Grey. According to our pool builder it was the 2nd most blue in terms of water color. We like the look. Grey is only really visible on the first step. After that its blue (tropical, not deep blue).
Good luck finding samples in your area.

Hey guys I am building my first pool and everyone is saying that pebble tec is a great material and looks really beautiful however one of the pool builders I interviewed did tell me that it can be rough on little feet. can anyone who has had it installed please give me some info from your experience.

 o
RE: Pool Finish Choices - Pebble Sheen

Your pool builder is correct. Pebble Tec is beautiful and very tough on the feet. Try Pebble Sheen instead. It comes from the same compnay and is a much finer pebble. Much easier on the feet and just as beautiful.

We have a liner pool that we have had to replace way too many liners for. We are interested in the Pebble Sheen surface, but we have been told that it will make our pool smaller. We have a spring board and slide, does anyone know if the reduction in size will reduce the safety of these? Has anyone else done a conversion of this sort?

RE: Pool Finish Choices - Pebble Sheen

This site contains a nice gallery of completed pools AND each pebble tec color listed with the photo. Maybe this will be helpful. (P.S.) I found this site while searching - it's not my business.

My pool has a pebble tec finish, and it was custom blended by the contractor. We have a large tanning shelf, and the color looks like sand in the sun even though it is covered by 6 inches of water. It sort of looks like sand flecked with salt, pepper and little aqua and beige/rust stones. The deep water is the perfect shade of aqua blue and looks much like the tropical seas that you see in the Caribbean, Hawaii, etc. I LOVE my pebble tec. Sorry. I can't post a picture, but I wanted the pool to feel like a vacation, and they custom mixed it to perfection!!

We have a pool with a Pebble Tec "Pebble Sheen" surface. The color of the surface is "Blue Granite". I asked my wife to add some chlorine one day, and not knowing any better, she tossed the chlorine tablets directly into the pool. They settled on the bottom and left a dark, almost black stain on the Pebble Sheen where the chlorine must have had some chemical reaction with the surfacing. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to how this can be repaired, either with or without draining the pool?

Thanks for any and all advice!

exactly what IS pebble-tec ? ? ?

had to give an estimate on pool re-plastering last evening & the client's considering the product,,, from what i can see/surmise, its another reinvention of graded aggregates mix'd w/water-bas'd epoxy then trowel'd onto the pool surfaces - another reinvention of the ' chattahoochee ' finish,,, these surfaces seem to come around every 20yrs or so just after the distasteful memories of the previous generation fade,,, we've had to remove/repair many of them,,, would anyone know if my guess is correct ? ? ? thanks in adv.

ps - my bona fides ( 36yrs in conc repairs incl crack-spall-joint-resurfacing-coatings )

Hi. I am also trying to pick a Pebble sheen color for our pool.. Who would think this would be so hard!! Does anyone have pictures of Cool Blue, Slate Blue or Prism? I also have two sundecks and was thinking of doing those a different color.. My pool builder said that some people change the color from the main pool so it looks like the sand...Any suggestions?? Thanks

We just had our pool redone with Pebble Tec Sandy Beach. At first it was greener than I expected but after two weeks and the chemicals were added it is perfect. A cool turquoise in color.

Hi - I live in San Antonio, TX. my pool is being constructed now. We have a big choice to make with the pool finish and are waffling horribly. Our contractor told us that they have a special right now and we can get CL Industries Sunstone Pearl White Pearl finish for only $500. That is the only color. I guess it's on clearance. Any other color would be another $2400. We initially were thinking of grey plaster. We have huge live oak and post oak trees in our back yard. The more research I've done on here and talking with people in our area, I think the pebble finish is a better choice. The problem is that my husband doesn't like the color white. He thinks it looks like a community pool. Other people here say their plaster has stained from the oak tree leaves and hasn't held up well. I don't want to spend another $2400. Any additional thoughts from the gallery? p.s. We are using Arizona flagstone and then a golden sand color cool deck with a texture. You guys rock!

I'm looking for some different finishes and a pool pump as well.

RE: Pool Finish Choices - Pebble Sheen

What color did you end up with for your pool finish and what tiles did you choose for the waterline. I'm trying to make a decision for the PS Blue Granite. Thanks!!

RE: Pool Finish Choices - Pebble Fina

I need some feedback on Grigio Pebble Fina? How much mottling has occurred? And if so, how long has your Grigio Pebble Fina been installed? Lastly, how does it feel on your feet? We are considering this product, and need to know ASAP. We have a sports pool (a shallower pool) and teenage boys will be playing sports in it as well. Please advise...greatly appreciate it!

Does anyone have pics of the Black Pearl Pebble Tec. I am leaning that way and would love to hear other peoples thoughts.
