I am not sure what forum to post this on so I am sorry if this is not the place.

I love gardening, but I am not knowledgeable in flower care, but I am learning as I go! This forum has been extremely helpful I can't believe how much I have learned this winter reading this forum( I think I'm addicted).

My question is, what are some common flowers that you can cut off the main stem and it will "bush out" forcing many other stems to grow from the base? I have picked a few flowers that were tall from my garden then the plant just went crazy with smaller stems growing around the one I picked and it was very pretty. But some that I have picked never sent out new stems. I don't want to just go around picking all my flowers just to see what comes back stronger, so any help would be great. also any links to other websites that may have this info(as I realize it may be a lot of info) would be great also!
